Former FRCC student Duane Farquhar sends this personal invitation to everyone at FRCC to attend the opening of his new show at the Muse Gallery.

Hello All!

I would like to extend a personal invitation to all of you to attend the opening night of my show at the Muse Gallery in Longmont. This is a special night for me and I would love to see you there!

The show is called Face Forward and consists of sculptures of heads, faces and masks. Some are caricatures, some are statements and the masks represent different cultures around the world. We see faces every day, but do we really look at the people behind them? We tend not to notice until something is exaggerated or out of skew.

This show is meant to make you take a second look. Everyone will see something different in every face, perhaps a memory, a reaction or a story. The show is meant to be seen and talked about as it brings ideas to your own mind.

If you cannot make it, no worries. The show runs from July 8th thru August 25th. I will be giving an artist’s talk on opening night, a demonstration at the Festival on Main on July 15th and also doing an artist’s talk on the Second Friday of August (august 12th).

All work is available for sale and Commissions and request work is welcomed. Beer and Wine, as well as hors d’oeuvres will be provided and there will be plenty of other work on display.

Oh, almost forgot! The opening night will be a masquerade, so bring your best mask and come and join the fun!

Hope to see you there!
Duane Farquhar
