Leslie Macklin

Leslie Macklin, Ceramics InstructorLeslie Macklin is the FRCC-BCC instructor in Ceramics, as well as the studio technician for the art department and the Faculty Advisor for Art Club!

Leslie received her MFA in ceramics from UMass Dartmouth and her BFA in ceramics from Webster University in St. Louis, Missouri. Leslie has over 10 years experience with advanced techniques in handbuilding and wheelthrowing.

In the past, Leslie has taught ceramics and papermaking to all ages and skill levels, lectured in a panel at the International Ceramics Festival in Aberystwyth, Wales, and attended a residency at Red Lodge Clay Center in Red Lodge, Montana. In addition, she exhibits her personal work across the United States including juried shows in Houston, Texas; Tallahassee, FL; Boston, Massachusetts; Manhattan, New York City; and internationally in Essex, England.

Ceramics Classes at FRCC:

Ceramics 1-4 includes hand building and throwing on the wheel to create forms, and decorative techniques that include the use of glazes and under-glazes, scrafitto, mishima and more. Student pieces are fired using electric, gas, gas reduction and raku kilns.
